why are my front tires looking brown around wheels and mags always dirty

Your front brake pads are creating that dust as they wear down. You may have poor quality pad material causing this. You can clean the wheels and install a top quality brake pad and drive to see what happens. I strongly recommend replacing any pad shims and/or hardware and machining the rotors or replacing them. If you have rear drum brakes then the drums are keeping the brake shoe dust off the rear wheels.

Your disk brake pads could be of poor quality material or you use your brakes too much and even alot of hard braking will cause the brakes to make alot of dust I had the very same problem awhile ago on my Mustang what I did was put new disk brake pads on and the dust has lessened and I brake much less frequently, use the method of allowing the transmission to slow the car, also apply the brakes much softer instead of braking hard and I don't speed up to lights and then slam on brakes this has as I say reduced the dust. Dirty tires I still have a problem with they tend to look brown when I have been parking in the rocky dirt alot or making tight turns around corners instead of slowing down around them, been reducing and going around corners much slower lately it seems to be reducing the brown plus I am now putting a tire glaze on my tires and it keeps them cleaner, I do uee a little castor oil on them also works just like a tire protectant keeps them lceaner longer.
