After inspection I can see smoke and alloy turning black. Kwik Fit cannot find issue with the caliper. Any idea what this is. Have only done 33k miles.

Have you done any brake work recently? If not, with high miles and high speed driving you can cook the calipers which will hang on the rotor. Do not continue to drive car until fixed. Also check your wheel bearings(noise is usually a first sign here)
