code u1010 after dead battery replaced how to clear code

I'm not clear why a trouble code would show if you have replaced your battery properly. Meaning, the key was in the off position and removed when you replaced your battery. And, no surge occurred in the system. You could either disconnect the battery, wait five minutes and reconnect the battery and see if that helps. Or, a fully capable diagnostic tool that can read and clear U codes is needed.
