What is your question?
Car has had the white plume coming out the tail end when I first start for a long time. Now it sounds like a belt squealing when I start and it's really high pitched and continuous all the way through 3rd. I cannot get over 30-40mph acceleration does nothing really. To the floor? No response. Prior to this it would act up sometimes stalling out on me every stop and hard to keep running. 5 speed manual. I'm going to get run over out here. Help? I'm going to remove an O2 sensor and see if there's any difference. Catalytic converter? Trash build up? Thank you in advance, Candis
What makes this problem better or worse?
Worse towards the bottom of my gas.Gas treatment was helping when it was stallingl
How long has your 2003 Mazda Protege5 had this problem?
To this extreme a couple weeks but stalling 4 months or so very scary I can be going 65 on hwy it'll just die

Hello, is the engine revving when you're accelerating hard between 30-40 mph as you stated? Or is there no throttle response at all when you press it to the floor - even with the engine? Yes, you could have an exhaust restriction -- but I'd be curious of a root cause. It doesn't' just happen, it would have to be due to other previous engine performance issues. I'm wondering if your clutch is slipping? This could cause no acceleration but engine revving, and could cause a stall when stopping.
