Why can't my car make it up the mountain? It loses power & slows down.

Loss of power can be due to a number of things. Does your check engine light ever come on? Rather than online guesses, it would probably be good to take it somewhere for diagnostics. Does it only lose power on grades? There's probably a sensor issue, but it could be anything from a lack of fuel or air to an exhaust problem.
