What is your question?
2006 MPV started stalling on highway. Engine would shut down and had just enough time to get to shoulder of highway. This happened three times. Now it is doing this in slower traffic. The mechanic has driven the van numerous times and the van has not stalled for him. The mechanic installed a new crank sensor but this has not fixed the problem. Any ideas on what can be done ?

Hello, testing truly must happen at the time of failure to be certain of what is happening. Frustrating but true. Anything else becomes just guessing. Another possible cause of stalling can be due to fuel pressure loss. You can have your fuel system tested to see what kind of static fuel pressure is being offered from the fuel pump and if it's "bleeding down" at all -- even when the problem is not occurring.
I appreciate your response. It is stalling during acceleration. It stalled for me today when I was in traffic and speed up. I also found out by accident that when I put the van in neutral and rev up the engine the car dies when I back off the gas pedal. When the engine dies in both cases, the "traction control is off" lights up on the dash. Thanks for your suggestion of checking the fuel pump.
