What is your question?
My old MPV 2005 minivan has a check engine light with this error code on. I'm just trying to get recommendations on the right mechanic to address this. Is this something any old good mechanic can handle or do I need someone with Emissions specific experience?
How long has your 2005 Mazda MPV had this problem?
A couple weeks

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! P2407 is one of those “EVAP system is confused” codes—specifically, the leak detection pump sense circuit is acting up. It’s usually a wiring issue, a failing pump, or a bad sensor signal. The good news? You don’t need a wizard-level emissions tech, but you do want a shop with a solid scan tool and some EVAP system experience. A good general mechanic can handle this, especially if they’ve got experience with Mazdas or imports. Just make sure they can do smoke testing and know how to interpret EVAP-related data. Otherwise, you’ll be chasing your tail—and your check engine light.
