1994 mpv van cranks but dont start. where is the coil located in van when placing the coil can I only change the coil or the wires to.

The coil is located at the left-rear of the engine compartment, it's at the other end of the wire that is connected to the center of the distributor cap. You can replace the wires separately from the coil. Very rarely do the coils go bad so be sure it's bad before you replace it. Usually, if there's no spark (check it), the distributor has failed. The coils are under the manifold. Well 1, 2 and 3 are to the back of the top of the vehicle. 4, 5 and 6 are in the front. I'm sure you no longer have this vehicle but maybe someone else may see this and it will help them.
Actually the coils do go bad. I have a 2004 and have replaced 2 myself however it appears that someone had replaced some prior to me owing it. The code will read "P0301 Cylinder (1) Misfire Detected OR whichever coil is bad. This time mine so happened to be 1. Last time it was 3.
