The CRUISE MAIN light comes on but it will not lock into set coast. Also the hold light does not work.

There are several reasons that cruise control will not set, one being that the brake light switch is ON, be sure that the brakelights are not on while driving. if they are, then it could be on due to a faulty brakelight switch adjustment or circuit. There's the possibility of a failed actuator, switch, the circuits or any other part of the system. I'm sorry that I don't have an electrical diagram of the cruise system so I can't give you specific test procedures. About the Hold light, does the transmission hold feature work and the light doesn't come on or does the transmission hold not work, and the light doesn't come on. If the system works but the light doesn't glow, then the bulb could be burned out. I think it's a good idea for you to find a Mazda expert to help you. Thanks for that reply. the Hold does not work or the light come on. I pulled a cable under the bonnet No Idea what it's for. The Power light came on and the power worked. But the only way to ge it to disengage and the light to go out was to disconect the battery. When I re-connected the battery the system went back to the way it was not opperating correctly.
