How to test temperature sensor.

I am sorry. A good way to test this is to: what? I am concerned that the wiring may be at fault. Where is the temperature sender located? I can not find it.

Hook up a scan tool and check live data to view actual engine temperature..... Then compare the scanners reading to the temp gauge!.. Eliminate all that guess work and unnecessary parts replacement!!!... Find out what the problem is before looking for a ghost!
