what should I pay to have a speedometer head and cable replaced, including labor

are they rebuilding speedo head or just repl with good used? look under instrument cluster

He said he would need to get the cable from a junk yard. Wants to charge me $457 including labor for head and cable.

get a 2nd est in your area,sounds like he is just removing cluster to repl speedo cable on upper end. seems high to me. the labor to repl cable is 1hr plus part. the part can't be 350.00 used or even new. good luck

One shop wants $457, the other wants $700. Mmmmhhh.....
