My car has 17000 miles and during an oil change, the dealer service dept. suggested I have a cleaning done for this area (part) for 69.99. Said it prevents future expensive problems. I got the sense they were looking for service business at my expense that is unnecessary.

these throttle plates cannot be cleaned as they will take off protective coatings that prevent them from sticking. no need to service the throttle body at this time. Roy
