What is your question?
My 2008 CX 9 has the transmission slippage problem. Occurs between gears 4 to 5 to 6. Or from gears 6 to 5 to 4. Is this a vehicle safety issue? Can this problem be fixed? What will it cost? My vehicle has 171,000 miles.

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your CX9. Transmission slippage can indeed be a safety concern, especially if it causes unexpected loss of power or erratic behavior while driving. It's crucial to address this issue promptly, as continued driving with a slipping transmission can lead to more extensive damage and potentially leave you stranded. The problem could stem from several issues, including low transmission fluid, a faulty transmission control module, worn clutch packs, or internal transmission damage. A thorough diagnostic by a qualified technician can help pinpoint the exact cause.
