I have 2011 mazda cx-7, I have noticed that the engine getting overheated and white smoke was coming from the hood. I saw two codes, showing that the thermostat failure and engine misfire.
How long has your 2011 Mazda CX-7 had this problem?

Hello, first - there is no "code" for "thermostat failure". A code may suggest you should look in that area, but it could be caused by multiple causes. Be wary before jumping to that conclusion. Also, the engine misfire needs to have diangostic testing performed to determine the root cause. Also - is the engine actually actively overheating? Meausre the coolant temperature accurately when the gauge is "high". Sometimes information is not accuate; white smoke could be coming from a fluid leak contacting hot components, or coolant leaking out of hoses. Hands on testing is needed. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554. We'll gladly find you a certified RepairPal shop in your area.
Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Your CX-7's engine overheating and white smoke are likely connected to the thermostat code. A stuck thermostat can prevent coolant from flowing, causing the engine to overheat. Extreme temperatures can also affect combustion, explaining the engine misfire. You may want to have a chem test performed to determine if there was damage to the head gasket during the over heat. Start by replacing the faulty thermostat and checking for any coolant leaks. Overheating can damage the engine if left unchecked, so don’t wait too long to get this fixed.
