What is your question?
I have a turbo Cx7 81,000 miles. Two questions I have regarding some potential issues: 1.) I have a ticking noise when I press hard on the gas. It doesn't do it "sometimes" I press hard on the gas. It quickly clicks around 3 times (TICK, TICK, TICK) and then kick's in. Again, it doesn't do it all the time. I don't press hard on the gas a lot so I'm NOT sure what's causing the noise. I find it does it mostly when I have people in the car. Sound familiar to anyone? 2.) My car had a recall that was addressed a few years back. It would spit out white smoke. That issue was addressed. The problem I see sometimes is when I press hard on the gas and the turbo kicks in. It spits out a lot of grayish white smoke. This is also intermittent and rarely happens. I have had differing opinions but nobody has the same problem with the same vehicle. I like the car but I'm getting the sense that the CX-7 turbo has a lot of issues. Especially as the car gets older. Should I sell this car if I want to avoid more issues?

I think there is a recall on the cam shafts phaser. Just by your description and what I have seen on the cx7 I would lean that way.
FYI- i purchased a 2009 Mazda cx7 turbo 23 months ago.... since then the car has had 2 transmissions, 3 turbo chargers replaced and a head gasket replaced. PROBLEMATIC CARS. Upon researching the car (after my purchase....should have researched PRIOR to purchasing- my stupidity!)... I have found out that these cars were discontinued in 2012 and cx7s produced from 2007 to 2011 ALL have turbo and timing belt issues that stem from a defect in the engine that results in the failure of the turbo and belt. Mazda has yet to take responsibility for the defect in the engine and continues to place blame on the owners of the cars and state the issues come from "poor manintenance". Right now, my car isin Mazda replacing the 3rd Turbo (which blew out in March 2013, March 2014 and now March 2015)..... 3 days after the 12 month parts warranty is u on the turbo charger part. Mazda is refusing to replace my turbo and asking for 2 years of oil change receipts to prove i maintained the car properly. SELL YOUR CAR- it sounds to me like you are having turbo problems!!! GET AWAY FROM MAZDA!!!!! if i had the option to get rid of my Mazda, i would... but, every time i try, something else blows and i cant sell it with a blown turbo, transmission, head gasket, etc...... MAZDA IS THE WORST AND REALLY HAS SCREWED THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WITH THEIR DEFECTIVE CX7! I have found out that there is almost 6,000 people encountering similar issues as me, they are starting a civil law suit against Mazda, but that can be years to get any type of outcome.
