recurring problem..last 2 shop visits same issue. dealer shop says its an anomaly; but now 2 of the 4 ignition coils have failed, specifically coil numbers 1 & 3...This is a major safety issue as the car shuts off while driving. Has happened while driving on expressway twice; traveling about 65 mph and up a hill both times. I have had to be towed 2 times now. Mazda dealer says nothing from Mazda corporate . This car has 48,000 miles on it. Bought brand new in 2013. I use mid-grade fuel nothing lower than 87 as suggested. Shall I expect coils 2 & 4 to fail as well? repair is costly over $1k each time. any help out there? Does anyone know if the Mazda MPV electrical system is used in the CX5?? I read the MPV has had years of this same problem noted.

Recommend contacting Mazda Corp office and explain your situation. This shouldn't be occurring with only 48,000 miles on vehicle. $1,000 per visit to ANY automobile repair facility for THIS problem is completely absurd! ....
Unfortunately without *hands-on* testing / diagnosis - we won’t be able to offer much help here online. Good luck with it!
