Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Great news that you're being proactive about the timing belt because on an engine this age waiting for it to snap is a gamble nobody wants to take! And since you mentioned the water pump, you are absolutely thinking about this the right way. The water pump on this engine is driven by the timing belt so since you're already in there the labor is essentially free at that point. Replacing the water pump, tensioner, and idler pulleys at the same time as the belt is just smart economics. Skipping them only to have one fail later means pulling everything apart all over again. Also, if the camshaft and crankshat seals are behind the timing cover, you should address those as well! Do it all at once and sleep soundly for another 60,000 miles!
