Replacing Key switch

What is your question?

My key switch broke in my truck, the end of it(key cylinder). I have removed it and the broken parts. There is the gear that broke and 2 space plates. I would like to know the exact procedure to put these plates on or inside where the switch goes. I hope you have an idea what I am describing. This has to do with the key itself and the key cyclinder that goes into the housing. Any instructions would be greatly appreciated.
