Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. Operation of this engine is pretty simple. Fuel delivery, ignition, spark, proper air coming into the intake. Something is not right if you're not getting the proper performance and then it revs up. It's really important to be able to determine what is missing from the equation – to me it sounds like fuel pressure is in question or something that meters the air or is measuring the amount of air that comes in the engine is not working properly.
