car was running fine until tonight after driving it a short distance,and after about 5 minutes,tried to re start it.At first it wouldn't start.I finally got it started,but it would barely run.I had the gas pedal all the down and it was barely running at low RPMs and very rough.

First thing I think of, since the car ran fine and suddenly started to fail, it could be that there's an air leak into the intake system like a loose clamp or split intake air rubber duct. also, your EGR valve could be stuck open, also the airflow sensor could have failed suddenly. I'd need more information, like is the check engine light on when it's running?
