My 2012 Mazda 2 just recently started squeaking on the passenger front side while driving. It doesn't do it when idling. Weather has been very cold this month so I'm wondering if that is the cause of the shocks needing lubricating or replacing. Car mileage is at 41,000. I have stuck to a regular maintenance schedule and this is the first winter I have had this happen. I've owned this car new so I am the only owner. The squeaking is consistent and doesn't get louder even when making a wide turn. I was advised that it might be the shocks. Just want a second opinion.
