with the mileage of 154,00o miles it really do more damage than good In don't know if it has ever been changed can anyone answer this I would like to do the job myself it seems simple.

As long as you're not flushing the trans with a machine it should be an improvement. Use factory filter AND fluid, NOT aftermarket!Take your time after pan removal and glean gasket surfaces(both pan and trans case as well as possible. No sealant should be necessary if factory seal is with a gasket , but if a silicone type sealant is what they use , keeping it clean and dry for assembly is extremely important to prevent future leaks. Have vin# and the number of bolts in pan info handy at dealer , may help in getting the right parts. Plenty of clean shop rags and a couple of cans of brake cleaner also.(need I add -a drain pan too?......have fun. Make sure to add fluid until the 'cold' mark when checking after and then test drive at least 5 miles and re- check on LEVEL ground , it should then be at full 'hot' mark , if not add as needed.
Yes, just DO NOT FLUSH THE SYSTEM. Simply drain the fluid, remove the pan, replace the filter, replace the pan, then fill to the proper level on the dipstick. Remember to check the PROPER fluid level again after the engine reaches the normal operating temperature.
