No it isn't. That is what is baffling me and making me think it is not something serious.

HOPEFULLY this has still set some diagnostic trouble codes - even though the light hasn’t been on. However for a beneficial scan test - you’ll have to visit a local repair facility that is capable of performing OBD 1 scan testing. No way to guess at it - plus intermittent failures are very difficult to diagnose otherwise. IF the problem were to be present at time of test - that would make a world of difference.. You may want to consider leaving vehicle at repair facility for a few days so the required *hands-on* testing can be completed. Good luck!
