Could this be caused by the heater blend door actuator or do the heater core need to be back flushed since it get hot after you raise the speed up?

sounds like you have a vacuum leak.when throttle increases more vacuum made. check all vacuum lines under hood by heater box with carb cleaner. if inside you should hear hissing sound.
