What is your question?
Overheats but the coolant refills once the cap (coolant) is remove. Sometimes the coolant is empty but I've never seen any signs of a coolant leak...even though I have to refill coolant about 1-2 times per week. At times it will overheat and when the coolant cap is twisted to release pressure, the reservoir will refill and I can hear a noise like fro the front driver side of the engine bay that sounds like a latch door opening and shutting repeatedly. The noises slowly deceases as the reservoir refills with hot coolant
What makes this problem better or worse?
It's kinda neutral. It'll overheat from idling at a stop light too long then sometimes I can drive all day w/o any issues
How long has your 2012 Lincoln MKZ had this problem?
About 4 weeks but I dont drive it much since this began happening

Hello, if you're having to add coolant, it's a matter of where the coolant is going. Coolant is not a "consumable" fluid, so it should never have to be topped off or refilled typically. Testing should be performed to see if any external coolant leaks can be verified. If not, internal coolant leaks to the engine should not be ruled out and should be checked for.
