2011 Lincoln MKZ - was the driver airbag recalled prior to the recall of the passenger side airbag?

The owner of this car said the driver side airbag was recalled and was to be replaced. Subsequent to that recall another notice came out stating the passenger side airbag also needed to be replaced. Is this correct?
