Coolant pushing out of radiator cap

Happens for the first time 2009 Lincoln MKZ car was left at idle for about 1.5hrs temp gauge was almost at the red turned car off fluid dripping from reservoir steamed from hood. No coolant in the oil. Let motor cool off added coolant ran it for about 20 ish mins and was fine took it for a 20 mile no issue
