Starter system fault

I've changed the battery on my smart T remote and it won't still start my 2013 Lincoln MKX When I finally turned it on it said starter system fault.

Hello, well, there's data to be found out there with use of a diagnostic tool and some repair manual instructions. The car should be able to be tested to find out if you have a cabling issue, starter motor issue, battery issue or something else.
