I have the old front strut off now I cannot align the spindle with the two lower mounting bolts. I have disconnected the sway bar and stabilizer. Mounted strut on top with one nut loosely to hold it in place. I cannot for the life of me get the top bolt to align. Used a floor jack to lift control still won't a;ign. I read if yo lift the entire fron of the car this will allow mor movement of the control arm and spindle. Help??????

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! What a predicament! I'm proud of you for making it this far, though! If you're having trouble aligning the strut mounting with the spindle, lifting the entire front of the car could provide more flexibility in maneuvering the control arm and spindle. Try using a floor jack to raise the front of the vehicle evenly, then carefully manipulate the control arm and spindle to align the mounting holes. You may also need to adjust the position of the strut itself to ensure proper alignment. Also, double-check that all other components, such as the sway bar and stabilizer, are properly disconnected and do not hinder the alignment process. If you're still having difficulty, it may be helpful to seek assistance from a professional mechanic or someone with a lift to get the car in the air and finish it!
