What is your question?
The car had no prior transmission symptoms. the problem happened while at the mechanics shop. I had it in for a "low oil pressure" warning that would intermittently sound at stop signs. While in the shop for that issue, the transmission apparently failed. Mechanic was not able to back the car out after replacing the oil pressure sensor. Seems like just a weird coincidence, but worth a mention. now when started in park, the car appears to be straining to go forward; same in reverse and same in neutral, the car seems stuck in drive.

I'd definitely press the repair shop to divulge exactly what was done during the repair visit. This is extremely coincidental and highly unlikely that you suddenly had some new failure occur. Also, you can engage another shop for a second, independent opinion. But you need to definitely ask questions and inspect thoroughly. www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
