Why is there no power steering

When the front wheels are off the ground, there is no "load" on the steering system, meaning "power steering" really isn't needed. When the 2000+ pounds of weight are resting on the front wheels of the vehicle while the wheels are on the ground, it can be a different story! A diagnostic test of the power steering system, including electronic variable assist functionality, is needed to find out if you have a pump, gear, control module, actuator, sensor issue.
