What is your question?
I had to change the alternator which I did the alternator is good charge the battery all the way up it started it everything was fine. Drove it to gas station and put gas in it and it overheated. Auto parts store told me I need a new temperature sensor I've learned there too and I cannot locate the one I need to change.

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! On your 1998 Lincoln Continental, you’ve got two temperature sensors: 1. **Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS):** This guy sends data to the engine computer. It’s located near the thermostat housing, which is on the driver’s side of the engine. Look for a small sensor threaded into the coolant passage with a connector plugged into it. 2. **Coolant Temperature Sending Unit:** This one drives the temp gauge on your dash. It’s usually threaded into the engine block or intake manifold, near the other sensor but slightly separate. Since you’re dealing with overheating, it’s smart to double-check for air pockets in the cooling system after replacing the alternator—trapped air can cause overheating and false sensor readings. Bleed the system properly before replacing parts. If you need any further advice or want help finding a trusted RepairPal shop in your area, please feel free to call us at 877-913-1554.
