the heat works when it wanna work...i see that is a common problem...wondering how to fix it and how much??

Too hard to say from such a generalized symptom. Your engine temperature needs to be checked first. If you verify that is ok, you need to check at the temperature control inside the vehicle. A good diagnosis is in order, really, before anything else. Best of luck!
