My 2008 Lexus RX 400H is having intermittent Check Engine Light on / off every other day or so. Seems to happen in the afternoons when temperature is really hot outside. In the morning, its off and seems to not be a problem. Dealership said they'd have problem finding the issue if its not on when I bring it in. Trying to decide what to do.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Seems to be better in mornings and/or engine is cold - not as hot outside

Hello, I disagree with the dealership. A check engine light will most likely set a diagnostic trouble code that can be traced - even from a "memory" historical occurrence, and give some data as to where to start looking.
Since it happens frequently enough, a repair shop should even be able to drive the vehicle and duplicate the concern while testing anyway.
