What is your question?
I was advised that my radiator neck needs to be replaced. The repair shop didn't have the part and advised I not drive it home. Can I tape the hose back to on the neck temporarily until I can get it replaced? I don't trust this place now as they are hinting they may have to order a radiator! I don't need a radiator!
What makes this problem better or worse?
Nothing
How long has your 2009 Lexus RX350 had this problem?
Maybe a few days. Was just at Lexus dealership and they didn't report this was an issue.

YES, if the neck on top of the radiator is cracked or broken, you need a radiator,it's PLASTIC! You can't just order a neck, because they don't sell that because it is part of the plastic radiator. I think someone is confused on this because that shop can not order a neck for any radiator? Are you sure that's what the shop said,or is it the "thermostat housing/water inlet/outlet" that is broken? AND NO,you can't tape it!
Yes, the radiator neck on the Lexus frequently wears out and needs to be replaced. I watched YouTube videos to see how to replace it and after the buying the part on Amazon, replaced it in under an hour. To find the video, I searched Google using these 4 words:Lexus Radiator Neck Video - and then watched how to remove/replace just the neck. On Amazon I searched using these 3 words: Lexus Radiator Neck - the part was just $15 in 2022
