KEY TURNS BUT DOES NOT START.

We need more information to answer this question: 1. does it crank (engine turning over) when you turn the key? 2. Or, do you hear clicks when you turn the key? 3. Or, no sound at all when you turn the key? 4. Was there a check engine light warning prior to this event?
