There is a growling sound in the front. When l stop at al light then excellerate there is a noise.
How long has your 2002 Lexus RX300 had this problem?

Hello, timing belt wear or failure would not make sounds that I can think of. Components inside the engine timing area such as idler pulley and tensioner pulley may make noise. If your timing belt slips or breaks, damage to the engine may occur. The timing belt should be replaced every 90,000 miles -- or maybe every 7 years is you don't drive much. This would mean it should have been replaced probably 3 times by now. It's worth staying ahead of the timing belt to prevent engine stall and damage.
