Possible Neutral Safety switch or broken gears.

Thank you for the reply Sam. I was recently told that I should not have had the transmission fluid changed with a vehicle that has over 200,000 miles on it. As I am currently waiting for the transmission builder from the shop to take a look at the car , the shop manager said I may need a new transmission. Does that sounds way off? Thank you for your reply.
