I was told that I need a smoke test because it involves the vacuum system How much does it cost for a smoke test on my old five Lexus LS 430 and what does the smoke test tell you you have to fix or possibly fix

"Smoke Test" is a vapor introduced into the evaporative emissions system to detect where a leak may be coming from. So, I would have to assume the trouble codes you are getting are P04xx - with the x's being numbers. Check with a local repair shop near you to know exactly what the diagnostic cost will be.
