What is your question?
I am a light footed driver. I would think that the computer would adjust the timing. Thanks for your input. John Larson - Auburn, Washington

In short term usage, you can get away with it. In theory, the sensors of the vehicle will "detune" the engine to function with the lower octane fuel. However, you risk internal engine damage by using anything less than premium fuel for a longer term.
I INTEND TO BUY ONE OF THESE LS400 1990 BUT HAVE NO ACCESS TO PREMIUM FUEL, HENCE IT IS GOING TO BE FED REGULAR UNLEADED ALL THE WAY. WHAT MUST I DO TO PREVENT DAMAGE?
