Thanks, that's what I was thinking, then I saw some amsoil filters that were rated for 25k and started wondering what Lexus actually suggested.

For normal service Lexus say oil and cartridge oil filter every 5,000 miles. The filter is a cartridge style filter easy to change a little messy.
