it sounds like i'm starting a lawn mower up, like it's not catching at first then when it does it makes a noise turning over. I just had the start assembly replaced but still the same issue and no one has been able to duplicate it while it's in the shop and i'm paying an arm and a leg to get it checked out

When the starter is actuated, the small gear on the starter engages the larger gear on the flexplate. Without hearing the sound myself, I'd be leaning toward a flexplate issue. Would be easier to diagnose if I could hear the noise. Thanks. David@apexautoaz.com
thank you so much @APEXAUTOAZ // my vehicle was in an accident in april and this has been doing it since then and no one was unable to duplicate the issue making me seem like i'm crazy. I now rev my car right before i shut it off and it seems to help with the start
I believe the flexplate was damaged in the accident. Especially likely if the accident was frontal. If insurance paid to have the car repaired, you might continue the claim and ask them to finish repairing the damage caused by the crash.
Thank you, i contacted the insurance and the adjuster Kim at Geico has been great actually. They did not do a full look over on the vehicle when it was damaged, guy missed his exit and decided to ram into me going at least 75 or more miles exiting the freeway and hit my front end and most of my driver side and my passenger side tires scrapped the baracade wall while i tried to stay away from it. They fixed the cosmetic and never looked to see all the other damage that it may have caused. I would like to give your shop a call if you specialize with my car? Or if you know of a good place other than Arrowhead Lexus since she has agreed to have my car looked at to see what was accident related under the hood since that wasn't addressed in the beginning.
