What is your question?
One time when braking. Hitting the brake pedal stopes the shaking. and all is well. Did see and hear some lights and beeps on the dash, but it over so fast, and I am holding on to the steering wheel so hard, I cant till you what it says or is doing. No noises or leaks. Had 300,000 mile service, all belts, hoses, fluids, oils, replaced. Car is in perfect mechanical shape except for this brake shake out of the blue.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Nothing. Only stepping on the brake pedal during the problem stops it.
How long has your 2004 Lexus GX470 had this problem?
3 times in six months. but 2 times yesterday.

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. Congratulations on your vehicle that has over 300,000 miles accrued on it! That is a testament to your efforts making sure that your vehicle is well-maintained and taken care of. I don't really have any great ideas as to what is happening to your vehicle randomly while driving down the highway. Since the problem stops when hitting the brakes, and since the problem seems to illuminate some sort of warning indications, it would lead me to believe that there may be a false activation of the anti-lock brake system which also acts as traction control and vehicle stability control for the vehicle. There is a momentary signal loss from one of the sensors at one of the wheels, it could lead the vehicle to believe that the vehicle is out of control and start some actions that you don't expect. Now this is just a guess, but it's reasonable based off of what you're saying. I would definitely want you to see a shop near you to have this evaluated. I would bet on a wheel sensor or sensor tone ring issue. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554.
