I have a 2006 Lexus GX 470 and the dashboard is cracked from the drivers side to the end on the passenger side. It is very unsightly and I hate the look of this car every time I get in this vehicle. I have look for answer everywhere but to no avail. The struts are leaking and the vehicle currently rides worst than a wagon. the current mileage is 69,000. Has anyone had early problems with the suspension system?
Yes. I have had the same problem for the last 4-5 years. It is getting uglier; even by the air vents I have cracks now. I have read that if you call Lexus Corp and raise enough stink about it, they will get u a free replacement. However, they want a dealership to do the installation...which can be $300 or so... I have not confirmed this yet...it's on my "to do" list.
My 2003 GX470 has a horribly cracked dash board. A couple years ago, I raised a stink with every avenue I could. (I read there is a class action suit in Australia about the cracks.) I finally got Lexus to say that they would supply the new dash, but I would have to pay the dealer $500 to install it. I began negotiation with the dealer (where I had purchased 3 Lexus) and they would not budge on the price. I decided to live with the dash and NEVER purchase another Lexus. I am so done with them! Since then, I have accessorized the cracks with rhinestones and duck tape. I call it my "Glam Hooptie Lexus".
There is a maufacture recall for the dashboards. We received ours in December 2015. Good luck. https://www.carbuyingtips.com/articles/blog/lexus-to-pay-for-cracked-dashboard-repairs.htm
