What is your question?
I have recently had the timing belt replaced and put in a new battery, but my car will not start on the first try. The dash indicator lights come on but the car will not turn over. I let it sit for a minute and try again. Sometimes it will take 3 - 4 tries before the car will start. I must also have the doors closed and my foot on the brake or it will not work. I work 45 miles from home and I am afraid to drive the car to work for fear that I might not get it started to get home. Any ideas as to what the problem might be?
No, the car makes no noise when I turn the key. Only all the lights on the console light up. I turn the key off, then try again and either it will start then or I have to try several times before I can get it to start. So far, I have always gotten it to start after two or more tries, but I worry that one day I won't be so lucky. I know that the car is a 1999, but it belonged to my mother and was taken very good care of. I have had the car for a year now. The only known problems were it needed a timing belt, which the local Lexus dealer replaced, and a new battery which my husband just replaced two weeks ago and it needs new struts which we will do shortly. Other than that I have not experienced any other electrical problems. Everything works fine including the seat warmer and the rear window defroster.
