My car was running hard, I told you husband. He checked it out to find that one of the wires was not connected. He says someone had to have removed ut, but no one has been under my hood. Can a clamped wire gomez off on its own?

Hello, I have seen them come off on their own. The engine vibrates quite a bit, and the clamping force of the connection between distributor - wire - plug gets weaker with age. Just because it feels tight to go on, doesn't mean it is secure, and if that mistake was made before, then it will come off at some point. There needs to be a 'click/pop' when installing the wires.
