What is your question?
Am needing routine 90,000 mile service. Getting different opinions as to necessity of replacing water pump. Naturally the price goes up, but see the logic of getting the pump replaced while the car timing belt is being replaced. Should I have the pump replaced? Does a dealer need to do it?

No the dealer does not have to do it. A qualified shop can. When doing the timing belt the access to water pump is right there and how much longer do you want to take the chance that the water pump will last? Smart to do.
raiderron is correct. you need a good reputable Japanese specialty shop that can do ALL your service. they will replace everything that contacts the timing belt; water pump, idler bearings and tensioners. they may also advise cam or crank seals, while the timing belt is removed. IF you want it done correctly, expect about $1300.
