Have a 2003 Lexus ES 300, and the windows went down by themselves while the engine was off. How can that happen without the engine being on? First time this has happened, and cannot understand what caused the windows to go down by themselves.

Whereas I cannot know for sure, your concern is consistent with the normal "global opening" feature of the windows, activated by using your remote control. This can even happen accidentally without knowing it. If you press and hold your "unlock" button for a period of time, all the windows will start to open. It's a normal feature, even if you may not know or may never use it.
