BY THE WAY ,WHAT IS LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHING? WHAT WILL BE THE ESTIMATE COST OF THE REPLACEMENTS? I"M GREEN ON CARS AS YOU CAN IMAGINE.YOUR HELP IS APPRECIATED. THANK YOU.

I would look at other options to the Lexus genuine shocks KYB make several good shocks and upper mounts but it is a big job to do yourself. You also need a compressor to compress the spring when replacing the "shocks". Autozone have some popular workshop manuals for free on line once you register (for free) on their website http://bit.ly/autozone_repair_info or there is a company that independent auto repair shops "buy" their information from that offer a very reasonable service to do it yourselvers. You can get a one week subscription or year subscription very cheap. The information is year make and model specific repair procedures, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect.... great quality information same as the professionals have ,much better than generic workshop manuals from parts stores, much cheaper than the factory manual try http://bit.ly/mitchell_repair_manuals_online and get an online repair manual subscription. Lower control arm you may think of it as a lower wishbone if you were thinking in terms of an older car.
yeah....Im not sure you need to replace the bushing at 51k miles... unless your car got in an accident or you take it four wheeling...or drive the car like your in the baja race....or if the previous owner drove it like hell... I have a1997 es300 with 145k on it and just now needing them replaced...does the car pull or have uneven wear on the tires, or shaks or u hear something clungking when you go over bumps??? if your car seems to drive ok I think your dealer is trying to rip you off... hope this helps oh a control arm bushing is a rubber gasket that sits in the control arm that helps with steering and reduce vibrations pic: http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/replacement_sm/lexus~control_arm~replacement.html
