What is your question?
Today i failed a smog test for my 95' lexus es300. Do to emissions being too high and a disconnected evap hose? But, I have no check engine light. My car does have issues switching gears from 1st to 4th gear but I don't think either issue has anything to do with one another. My car is really horrible on gas at the moment as well. How do I find the do a disconnected hose or line with no check engine light?
What makes this problem better or worse?
accelerating makes it worse when it comes to shifting gears.
How long has your 1995 Lexus ES300 had this problem?
a few months.

Hello, it sounds like you have three problems. 1) evaporative emissions concern -- a gross leak somewhere, which does not have to be a disconnected hose. This will require hands on diagnostic testing. Sometimes a shop will add a smoke vapor to the system to see where it leaks out of. 2) Switching gears - this sounds like an automatic transmission issue. Sometimes presence of an issue like this prevents smog testing from passing. So beware that you may need to address this. 3) Excessive fuel consumption -- has nothing to do with problem (1), rather an engine performance issue that will also cause you to fail smog testing. Sounds like you could use the help of a shop near you! www.repairpal.com/repair-shops
